Introduction:
The final inning has arrived. On October 11, 2026, the legendary anisong duo OxT—comprised of vocalist Masayoshi Ōishi and guitarist/producer Tom-H@ck—released their latest single, “ROAD TO BE BLUE,” the ending theme for Ace of the Diamond Act II -Second Season- Cour 2. The song arrives as the anime returns to Japanese television, airing on TV Tokyo and affiliated networks.
For a franchise that OxT helped launch over a decade ago, ROAD TO BE BLUE is not just another tie-in. It is a full-circle homecoming—a song that closes the loop on one of anime’s longest-running baseball sagas, and a track that carries the weight of every summer that came before it.
The Song That Brings OxT Back to the Mound:
OxT’s history with Ace of the Diamond stretches back to 2015, when the duo made their major debut with the ending theme “KIMERO!!” for the anime’s second season. Over the years, they contributed multiple theme songs to the franchise, becoming as synonymous with Seidou High’s baseball club as the crack of the bat itself.
Now, eleven years later, they return for the final cour of act II, Second Season. The choice of OxT for the ending theme is deliberate. As the anime’s official materials note, both GLAY (performing the opening, “NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN”) and OxT have “colored the theme songs of Ace of the Diamond”—and both songs’ lyrics reflect the journey of Seidou High School leading up to the finals.
Why “ROAD TO BE BLUE” Matters:
In a season crowded with high-profile anime endings, ROAD TO BE BLUE stands out for its earnestness. This is not a song trying to be clever or trendy. It is a song about showing up, doing the work, and believing in the people beside you.
For fans who have followed Sawamura, Miyuki, Furuya, and the rest of Seidou’s roster since 2013, this song is a farewell and a celebration. It acknowledges that the road has been long, that the summer is ending, and that the blue sky above the diamond will always be worth chasing.
Conclusion:
ROAD TO BE BLUE is more than an ending theme. It is a love letter to a decade of baseball, friendship, and summer heat. OxT has crafted a song that captures the spirit of Ace of the Diamond—the grind, the glory, and the quiet moments between innings that make the game worth playing.
