Introduction:
INI has officially released the digital single "Spin It" on October 12, 2026, as part of their ongoing "WORKSPACE" project. Performed by the unit pairing of FENGFAN and HIROMU—affectionately dubbed "FenRom" by fans—the track is one of four unit songs that debuted during the group's 5th Anniversary Dome Tour [CITY OF LIGHTS] at Tokyo Dome in September 2026.
The song arrives alongside the other three unit tracks: SWING (RIHITO, SHOGO, HIROTO), Give Me More (TAKUMI, TAKERU, YUDAI, JIN), and 君がくれたもの (MASAYA, KYOSUKE). But among the four, Spin It has emerged as the sleeper hit—a smooth, groove-heavy track that showcases a completely different side of INI's musical range.
"Spin It": The Song, The Sound, The Vibe:
Spin It runs 3 minutes and 26 seconds and is available in AAC-LC 320kbps format through major digital music stores.
Musically, the track is a departure from INI's typical high-energy pop. A review in Real Sound described it as carrying the essence of acid jazz, Philly soul, and disco—a "light, danceable groove" that feels both retro and refreshingly modern. This is not the INI of "You Know What To Do" or "Rocketeer." Spin It trades explosive choruses for smooth, seductive rhythms, creating a vibe that is effortlessly cool rather than forcefully intense.
Why "Spin It" Matters for INI:
INI is in the midst of a monumental 2026. Their 9th single ANTHEM, released in September, sold 823,000 copies in its first week and topped both the Billboard Japan Top Singles Sales chart and the JAPAN Hot 100. They are in the middle of their 5th Anniversary Dome Tour, with Osaka shows scheduled for November.
In this context, Spin It is not just a side project—it is a demonstration of INI's artistic depth. The group's main singles are built for impact: big choruses, powerful choreography, arena-sized energy. But Spin It shows that FENGFAN and HIROMU can carry a song on chemistry and groove alone. It proves that INI is not a monolith—it is a collection of distinct artists who can thrive in smaller, more intimate configurations.
Conclusion:
Spin It is proof that some of the best music happens outside the spotlight. While INI's stadium anthems command attention, this quiet, groovy unit track seduces instead of shouts. FENGFAN and HIROMU's voices intertwine with an ease that suggests years of shared musical understanding, and the song's acid-jazz-meets-disco production gives it a timeless, late-night quality.
