Introduction:
Virtual singer Haru Saruhi (春猿火) will introduce her latest original song, “HOLIC,” on October 14, 2026. Known for an expressive vocal style that moves across musical genres, Haru Saruhi continues to explore emotionally charged music through her work with KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO.
Titled simply “HOLIC,” the new track features lyrics co-written by Haru Saruhi and Hidenori Tanaka, with music by PABLO and G4CH4. The official music video is scheduled to premiere at 8:00 p.m. Japan time on the same day as the song’s digital release.
With its striking title and creative team, “HOLIC” is an intriguing new entry in Haru Saruhi’s discography. Here is what listeners should know about the release, its contributors, and the possible themes suggested by its title.
What Does the Title “HOLIC” Mean?:
The title “HOLIC” immediately brings to mind the English word -holic, a suffix commonly used to describe someone who is strongly devoted to, preoccupied with, or unable to stop engaging in something. Familiar expressions such as “workaholic” and “shopaholic” show how the word can suggest a habit that has grown beyond ordinary enthusiasm.
As a song title, “HOLIC” can invite questions about obsession, desire, attachment, and the fine line between passion and dependency. It might suggest a person drawn repeatedly toward an experience, relationship, feeling, or ideal—even when that attraction becomes difficult to control.
The title’s brevity also leaves plenty of room for interpretation. Without a confirmed official explanation of the lyrics, however, it would be premature to claim that the song is specifically about romantic obsession, addiction, or any single subject.
How “HOLIC” Fits Into Haru Saruhi’s Discography:
“HOLIC” follows a series of releases that demonstrate Haru Saruhi’s continued activity as a virtual singer. Her recent catalog includes the single “PAUSE,” released in August 2026, along with the remix album GLITCH STAGE, released in June 2026.
Her wider discography also includes releases such as “Accomplice” and “SPICE OF LIFE,” reflecting different formats and approaches to her music.
Rather than assuming that “HOLIC” follows the same sound or concept as these earlier projects, it is more useful to view the new single as another opportunity for Haru Saruhi to develop her artistic expression. The song’s creative credits and distinctive title provide a starting point for understanding this particular release.
Conclusion:
Haru Saruhi’s “HOLIC” arrives on October 14, 2026, with a creative team that includes co-lyricists Hidenori Tanaka and Haru Saruhi, composers and arrangers PABLO and G4CH4, and mixer Yasuhisa Kataoka.
The title suggests themes of fixation, desire, and intense attachment, although its exact meaning remains open until the lyrics and complete audiovisual presentation can be considered. That ambiguity is part of what makes the release interesting: listeners can approach the song with their own expectations and discover how the music shapes their interpretation.
With a digital release and official music video scheduled for the same day, “HOLIC” is a noteworthy new release for Haru Saruhi fans and listeners following Japan’s virtual music scene. The complete song and video will offer the clearest view of the ideas behind the title and the direction of this latest chapter in her discography.
